EMIE
The Information Service for Education and Children’s Services
EMIE is an information service that helps local authority education and children’s services departments across the UK to share information and effective practice on management and policy issues.
EMIE supports the aims of the Virtual Staff College by making recent examples of work done by local authorities more widely available. EMIE maintains an extensive database of local authority documents on education management policy and practice, and produces regular publications to disseminate the information. All local authority staff can register to use the full EMIE service. EMIE is centrally funded and free at the point of use to local authority staff.
Registered users can search the EMIE database via our website, or you can contact an EMIE Information Officer with your query.
The EMIE information service is a co-operative venture and relies on authorities to contribute material to keep the collection of documents relevant and up-to-date: if you know of work that should be made available to colleagues in other authorities, please contact EMIE at the address below.
